Dakimo Botanicals is the international brand of Dakimo Corporation SARL, a Beninese company sourcing, processing and exporting cosmetic ingredients and finished cosmetics from West Africa's botanical heritage.
Dakimo was founded in 2012 in Cotonou, Benin. In the beginning, we produced a single product: extra virgin peanut oil, made for the table rather than the skin.
Everything changed in 2015. Our eldest daughter, then just nine months old, accidentally drank a small amount of her mother's face lotion. It was the greatest fright of our lives. We rushed to the hospital; the doctors ran their tests and reassured us she was perfectly fine. But once home, reading that lotion's label — twenty-two ingredients long — one question stayed with us: if it isn't safe to swallow, why do we assume the skin is a perfect barrier against everything in it? That question never really left us. It is what turned an edible-oil producer into a natural cosmetics company, and it is still what we ask of every ingredient that carries the Dakimo name.
Today that same discipline — short, legible ingredient lists, sourced and processed close to home, documented batch by batch — shapes everything from our cold-pressed oils to our haircare range.
Every oil, butter, powder and soap is produced from raw material sourced and processed in Benin — not repackaged from an external supplier.
Every ingredient ships with a Technical Data Sheet and Certificate of Analysis, built to ISO-referenced methods, so buyers can verify what they receive.
Dossiers are structured against EC 1223/2009 and the equivalent frameworks in the UK, USA and Canada — built for real cross-border trade, not just a catalogue listing.
No palm oil of unknown origin, no animal testing, ingredients declared as Non-GMO — naturalness claims that are meant to be checked, not just stated.
Raw botanical material sourced from Beninese producers and cooperatives.
Cold-pressing, controlled-temperature maceration, or cold/hot-process soap-making.
Physicochemical and organoleptic analysis to ISO-referenced methods for every batch.
TDS, COA and market-specific regulatory dossier issued per shipment.
Shipped to B2B buyers across the EU, UK, USA and Canada.
Dakimo botanicals already travel from Cotonou to B2B buyers across the EU, UK, USA and Canada.
More than a supplier, Dakimo is a bridge between African tradition and global innovation — every shipment backed by a full technical and regulatory dossier.
Today Dakimo operates across three sites: two in Cotonou and one in Boifo, in northern Benin.
At Boifo, we work with 9 women's cooperatives on raw-material collection, and 2 further cooperatives dedicated to producing our Baobab and Moringa powders — the same cooperatives pictured here, harvesting, grinding and processing alongside our team.
